Mayoof Al Rumaihi Takes Home Grand Prize of 6th Showjumping Round
Mr Tawfiq Al Salehi, Director of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office and Information Centre Head of the PR and Media Committee at Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) has crowned Mayoof Al Rumaihi of the Ministry of Interior team as the winner of the Grand Prize race which took place as part of the 6th Showjumping Championship, held in Al Raffa, Sakhir.
Mr Al Salehi congratulated the top three winners of the main race of the event, praising the efforts exerted by the stables to achieve best results and top places. He stated that such efforts are contributing to the development of the showjumping sport in Bahrain. “The showjumping sport is witnessing tangible improvement in the Kingdom thanks to the support and backing of HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of BREEF,” he said, also valuing the endeavours of the Showjumping Committee at BREEF.
It’s worth noting that Al Rumaihi defeated his competitors in the 140cm-hurdle event, clocking 57.62 seconds, followed by Hussain Dadaallah who posted a time of 58.73 seconds. Both, the first place winner and the runner up committed eight faults each. Meanwhile, Al Rumaihi also occupied third place as he participated on two different horses.
He finished in 66.05 seconds in his second attempt. Mayoof Al Rumaihi jumped to victory also in the third competition for senior participants in the round. He completed it in 22.15 seconds, leaving second place to his brother Sultan, whose time was 23.82 seconds. Third place went to Abdullah Al Awadhi who crossed the finish line in 25.09 seconds. The event included 110cm hurdles.
In the fourth competition for seniors (120cm-hurdles), Ahmed Al Hasheli topped the podium, while Haytham Al Bastaki triumphed in the joker event which featured 130cm hurdles.
